John Kay has been appointed to the position of director of operations for the printed components business of Catalent Pharma Solutions Packaging Services segment. In his new role, Mr. Kay will be responsible for the company’s five global printed components plants. He will be located at the company’s Red Lion Road facility in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Kay was previously the director of technical operations for Catalent. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president of operations for Cortegra, a pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging provider. Prior to that, he was the director of corporate development and effectiveness for J.J. White, Inc., a Mid-Atlantic commercial construction organization. He also spent 15 years at Alcoa’s Consumer and Flexible Packaging Divisions, where he held a series of leadership roles in operations management and led continuous improvement initiatives across several facilities. “John Kay’s wealth of packaging experience and skills made him the ideal choice for director of operations and will benefit not only our business, but the entire company,” said Victor Dixon, vice president and general manager of printed components at Catalent. Catalent has also added David A. Guelzow as new account director, responsible for Midwest business development and support for the printed components business, and Kevin J. Tilley as account manager, responsible for the sales of printed components to new and existing customers in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical device markets. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Guelzow worked for several years as sales manager for Amcor Flexibles Healthcare. He was also a regional sales representative for Impaxx and the director of business development for Quality Assured Label. Before his current position with Catalent, Mr. Tilley worked as an account executive for MeadWestvaco in both Healthcare Packaging and the Envelope Products Group. He also worked as an account executive for the Colad Group. “We welcome David and Kevin to Catalent’s Printed Components Business team,” said Brian McCarthy, vice president business development of printed components, Catalent. “We are confident that their industry experience and knowledge of our key markets will help our team achieve continued growth and success.”
